Boom Boom Pow Plus

Its time for real women to be, do, and WEAR whatever makes her feel good. Whatever brings out her Boom, boom, POW. :)

PEPLUM! That’s what its called. That little apron like layer that hangs over your stomach on a dress, shirt, or skirt. It was kind of trying to make its debut awhile back but I wasn’t feeling it at all. I always thought instantly of the 80’s… and not in a good way….but for some reason this year I cannot stop buying it. I think I currently own a dress, jumpsuit, and, four shirts with this style. I cannot wait to share they all!
This is the first one I bought from Forever21 and what I love most about it is that its sweet and cute with the polka dots and then you turn around and the back is out! I have already worn this shirt several times so today I wanted to edge it up a bit. So I wore it with my torrid skinnies that are a bit distressed and some earrings I got from Charming Charlie that remind me of a cross between indian and hip-hop (i don’t know that’s what I thought when I bought them)For a little curve ball I wore my snake skin cage heels from JCPenny… Yes JCPenny. I also will make a case for Peplum as perfect for curvy girls or ladies who want to accentuate their waist and cover some of the “extra” in the belly. I have crossed over!

What do you ladies think PEPELUM… So Chic or Sooo 80’s?

 71Jules Dress
I discovered this designer a few weeks ago through my design companies Facebook page (JMarie Designz) and I have been dying to share it. She took the multi-way dress concept to a whole new level. And best of all this style can work for all sizes and shapes. The possibilities are endless with this design.
”71Jules creates body conscious, elegant yet comfortable garments for women of all body types and proportions. 71Jules was created with a vision for women to express their individual style and customize it  instantly, easily and discreetly.”

Here are a few of my favorite from her Facebook.

Stars Who Look Better Heavier- Headline Story On Yahoo

"Who says "thin is in?" Back in the day women used to worry about being too skinny and tried to gain weight. Even now celebrities like J. Lo and Kim Kardashian are proof that real women have curves. Check out these celebs who prove that thinner is not always better. “-Erica Boorstein

This story was on Yahoo’s Headline today. It caught my attention. I am glad someone said it. I never feel like its right to tell someone how they “should” look- so if these stars are happy being that skinny then that is their choice. However, I am happy to see the side by sides so that all the women … young & old can see that sometimes bigger is better. :) See story below
